It can be stressful to compare various DJ companies especially if you don’t know what to look for. In this article we will discuss some items you need to think about before you contact a DJ and during the process of the DJ search.
Before Contacting a DJ you will need to answer these questions:
- What is my budget?
- What type of event am i having?
- What do i want to get out of the service?
- DJ, MC, Lights, etc.
- Will I need someone to MC in spanish, english etc.?
- How many guests will I be having?
- Is the event at a home or venue?
- What type of music do I want?
Once you have these questions answered you can start contacting DJs through google, yelp, facebook, wedding wire, the knot or other platforms. At this time you will provide the details you you just answered and forward it to the DJ company.
At this time three to ten different DJs responded back with their packages and pricing. Now here comes the headache of having to figure out which DJ you want.

At this point you now have a matrix that compares the qualities of each of the DJs. You also have the winner who is “DJ A”. At this point you should book “DJ A” for your event.
